Itay Gil is the founder of Tactical Krav Maga. Itay who featured on the real life martial arts acclaimed documentary Human Weapon, which documented how Krav Maga was learned in Israel & taught to Special Units within the I.D.F. with Tactical Krav Maga founder Itay Gil being the only Krav Maga Expert featured, to actually take the Humam Weapon Krav Maga documentary hosts into the actual Commando base where Tactical Krav Maga is taught to certain elite military units. This is a true testimonial to the effectivness & functionality of the Tactical Krav Maga System.

Gerry completed Tactical Krav Maga Instructor Certification under Tactical Krav Maga. after special intensive Tactical Krav Maga instructor training, where Gerry was pushed hard to break through new limits, & show excellent use of Tactical Krav Maga under a variety of challenging very real to life full contact attack & defense situations.

Tactical Krav Maga has extremely high standards of all instructors, & all drills at this level are performed for real, with full contact, using professional safety gear.

Gerry who had studied Krav Maga for a number of years in Ireland, before he discovered what he believes to be the most simple & lethally best form of self defense, Tactical Krav Maga.

Originally Gerry traveled to Israel and completed an intensive instructor’s course in another Krav Maga system in 2005.

After moving to Thailand in late 2005 & spending over 18 months training full time in Muay Thai at  Nong Kee Pahuyuth Muay Thai Boxing School under Master Pramote Hamooke & later Sityodtong Muay Thai in Pattaya under Master Yodtong who also featured in the Muay Thai Human Weapon documentary. Gerry experiening & training along side professional Muay Thai Fighters, decided to seek a self defense system which would compliment such training.

Discovering Tactical Krav Maga, Krav Maga Defensive Tactics Self Defence  in early 2007. Gerry became a Tactical Krav Maga Instructor undergoing intensive  certification, in the system developed by Itay Gil.

Gerry Nolan is exlusively proud to represent Tactical Krav Maga in Thailand & considers it an honour to be associated with such a progressive system of combat.

Gerry has studied and trained in various effective and proven military and street survival systems, such as the World War II Combatives Fighting as learned by Special Forces.

Having spent time doing security and nightclub door work, Gerry soon found out what works in a real life violent encounter, against attacker who want to cause serious harm, and what does not work.

Gerry holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in Mu Gen Do kick boxing under founder of Mugendo Professor George Canning 10th Degree who trained many World Champions, European, British & Irish champions.

Gerry began Mugendo Kickboxing in February 1984 in Carrickmacross Co. Monaghan Ireland Mugendo Karate Kick boxing. Gerry has represented Ireland in Full Contact Kickboxing, and also was Irish Mugendo Kickboxing Champion in the 1990s.

Gerry was trained in Mugendo Kickboxing my Master George Canning, the trainer of many World & European Champion Full Contact Kickboxers. George is “The Father of Irish Kickboxing) World Mugendo Kickboxing Website.

Seven years running undefeated World Champion George Canning Junior , WAKO champion, & holder of many titles in the 1980s, as well as an extensive world of experience in nightclub security & bodyguard, personally trained Gerry through a brutal regime of hard, old school style kick boxing training, in private & occasionally painful drills & non-stop full contact kick boxing sparring sessions.

Training in Muay Thai in Nong Kee Pahuyuth Muay Thai Boxing School, Nong Ki, Burriram where he trained in Muay Thai intensive January – October 2006 in Nong Kee Pathuyuth under Master Pramote Hamook who is one of the most respect Muay Thai Masters in Thailand.

Master Pramote Hamook of Nong Kee Pahuyuth Muay Thai Boxing training since childhood two of the best & most internationally famous Muay Thai champions Nampon & Numkubuan who are legends to this day both to Thai people & to foreigners.  Master Pramote believes strongly that everyone must learn the traditional Boran (Culture) & meaning of Muay Thai as well as  Muay Boran moves such as 15 Master & 15 Complimentary tricks of Muay Thai. Nong Kee Pahuyuth Muay Thai is famous for the clinching, knees & elbows. Gerry spent many rounds clinching with the professional fighters, & for his first few months training in Nong Ki, invested much time in clinch training inner secrets, as he spent much time on the floor of the ring, having been thrown head over heels many time,  by 30kg lighter fighters.

In order to keep his own training ongoing and in a constant quest for self improvement, Gerry trains daily in Muay Thai Boxing. Since he moved to Thailand, he spent almost 1 year learning Muay Thai in Nong Kee Pahuyuth Muay Thai Boxing School. in Nong ki, Burriram, under Master Pramote Hamooke, who has produced many famous Muay Thai Champions. Gerry trained at Sityodthong Camp outside Pattaya.

At Tactical Krav Maga we specialize in teaching simple but effective self defence, designed to help people with no skills or experience, learn over a short period of time, effective simple and deadly techniques to help them avoid, escape or defend themselves against a violent attack. This is the goal of Tactical Krav Maga.

Gerry holds a BA Degree from the University of Prince Edward Island Canada , has studied at McGill University in Montreal , and is a Graduate of the Smurfit Business School in UCD. He is also qualified in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Gerry ran a very successful recruitment company in Ireland.

While teaching in Ireland, before moving to Thailand, Gerry has taught Krav Maga, Self Defence, and Martial Arts to civilians from all walks of life, and also to Police and Army.

Gerry is originally from Ireland and is now based in Thailand.
