@Mystgun It is not my aim to slag Krav Maga…I believe in its effectiveness. Like all martial arts – it depends on who is pulling off the moves. I am only questioning out of shape housewives being taught how to disarm a gun when pointed at them. As for a housewife’s speed… have you ever timed how quickly it takes to pull a trigger?

@xtremelyfatales but a lot of schools dont wear belts, i train at a krav maga worldwide center and we have a color system but its more of just a status like KML1 KML2 KML3 and so on

Well said, and although this is true, Eyal Yanilov however, was not only Imi’s highest ranking student, he was one of Imi’s closest friends. (his ranking is Master level 3/expert level 8 – given to him by Imi) Eyal is also the man responsible for developing many of the techniques with Imi, and the man put in charge of future development of techniques and training methods. You could say hes a big part of the reason Krav is so popular outside of Israel now.

Zacmaster: You hit the nail on the head. “At least that is what’s taught”. Your chances of living are much greater when listening to the guy pointing the gun at your head than trying some “twist the hand… kick them in the genitals” move. If the gunman isn’t completely asleep, your head will likely be removed in the first second of this posted ninja move. These types of moves are best left for Special Ops. that housewives wearing colored Krav maga/judo belts.

ok so you’ve done what the gun holder wants but he doesn’t leave you alone, chances are if this happens s/he is planing on killing you. krav maga teaches in gun defence the first thing you do is moving you and the gun out of the way so that if the gun goes off you wont get hit… after that twist the hand/arm so you can get the gun away from the bad person. kick them in the genitals and run like your ass is on fire. atleast thats what i was taught. if done right it should only take a second.

A lot of people think that Krav Maga doesn’t have a belt system. In the military that is true, but when it was developed for civilian use, belts were added. Imi himself wore a belt. Check the KMF website to see pictures.

lol you talk complete shit, ive done Krav Maga, and it works, type in Fight Quest Krav Maga and you might learn something…i think those big tough MMA guys got quite a beaitng when training in this defence system. And ive done Kickboxing and Kung-Fu too, which dont teach you much that you can use on the street, hoe often do you see someone do a roundhouse kick in a street fight? 0, if they catch your leg you are fucked. Smashing them in the balls and gouging their eyes out on the hand…..

Personally, I would shit myself first… then do exactly what the gun-holder wants. If the gun is away from my head, I might take the risk of a fight – depending on the situation.

Sincerely some techniques will work against the knife some not , the one who takes the wrist and teh guy is flying on his back is unreal, just checked the guy is letting taking his wrist. Is very difficult to do and. if the other guy is stronger than you is very difficult to take this wrist in a knife attack
